Rooster park
I’ve known the Cawsand lot for three or four years now, over this time I’ve had some of the funniest sessions, sickest jams, best skates and definitely maddest parties of my life. About two years ago Ross called me up to say they had somehow managed to get a grant for them to build there own little park, they soon found a piece of land and we set about deciding what they wanted, we ended up basing it on what I had at mine as the area they had was about the same size and steepness, about a month later we had our first session on the jump and quarter, since then they’ve added a little track, some more jumps and there’s a few rails in the woods.
The open day was class, right in the middle of the edible mushroom season which went down a treat with a few and not so great with others but all the riders had a good time except me, as I had just had my appendix out and spent the whole weekend sitting in a chair shouting abuse at the passing riders, I think some sort of white ninja fancy dress party went down but im not really sure.
The centre couldn’t be in a better place to one side you have some well fun free ride, to the next the ocean and some saweeeet clif jumps (don’t go without a local, but if you can find Leo and the tide is right get him to jump off the wall that I still don’t believe anyone’s ever jumped), to the other side you’ve got two sick skate parks (Millbrook and Torpoint) and in the distance a short drive away you’ve got Plymouth for all your late night needs.
Camping at makerhights is £5 per night and you can literally camp at the top of the Rollin and riding is free to all, the bays are looking to hold a event in October, keep your ears peeled.
So if your down this neck of the woods and wanna check it out, you can find rooster park on face book, but if your like Tuai and cant work a computer drop us a line and well put you in touch or you could just drive to Cawsand and listen for the shout of barnstormer, turquoise malfoy and crab apple.
Under an hour away you’ve also got our park and Josh the Mad Dog Madocks foam pit so well worth a trip to sunny Cornwall
