Im not a duck aka(haredown fun day)
Me and Joe got invited up to Haredown to do a bit of teaching and have a session with a load of the Haredown locals at the Soba fun day. I left mine a half eight and after a hairy drive that included a few wrong turns and a race with a porch we arrived at about four, just in time for a spot of bench surfing before the sun went down.
I got woke up at about eight with a cuppa tea, which I would normally be well chuffed about if it wasn’t eight in the morning (Vicky), anyway riding started at eleven so I mooched down to meet all the kids, a right old sound bunch, we spent the day freestyling, getting rad with some aerial stunts, by the end I was smashed, more from the heckling from Will than anything else (do a back flip 3, your teeth are all broken, you’ve got a monobrow, that sort of thing). Class day thought thoroughly enjoyed by all, BoarderX tomorrow, great. The evening was spent throwing chips at Steve, getting merry and consequently being told to go to bed by Steve, cheers mate or I would have stayed up all night, o yeah there was some sort of mega bread fight which went on for an hour or so, good times.
Get out of it you little pikies, eight in the morning again, an the kids were pelting me with Haribo like it was going out of fashion, the last thing I wanted when I felt like crud.
We spent the morning trying to ride the boarderX but all decided it was far too soft and in need of some serious rain, so after lunch and Jamie having an intimite moment with the floor on his bs five attempt, we got down to some more freetyling.
It was class to see how much the kids had all progressed in the last two days, they had found there confidence and realised that really anything is possible. We had a little comp that afternoon; Milo took the win with some big airs young paddywan Took second with his trademark style (mega boned grabs) and Sam got third hitting both jumps and one eightying in the quarter, all the rest were ripping too but they couldn’t all win. Me and Joe had a little ride for the parents an then set off home, more wrong turns and a couple races, great weekend for us and the kids, nice one Haredown, bring on next year
sorry about the lack of footage.
