euro trippin out 2 part 2

The night ended pretty fast, I wont go into all the details but in the morning there was some split lips and a few Belgians walking about with saw fists, and I felt especially bad, don’t steal a pissed up crazed Belgians ribena or bad thing happen is the motto of the story.

We left that morning for the holy grail of Mountainboarding (Winterberg), we got lost of course, Tuai was map reading, but still made it in under half the time it took my parents to get there and almost three times faster than mamma Shizz, nothing comes close to the power and agility of the Mbs berlingo.

Me and Tuai had both been there before but for Jj, Ang, Mick and the Irish it was a first, they rode franticly until dark then we all sat down to diner, Tuai couldn’t move at this point as he had the worst stack I think I have ever seen earlier that day, he landed a perfect switch front five then as soon as I got the camera out cleared the landing onto his back, I didn’t even get it on film because as soon as he took off I was already running over.

The next few days were spent frolicking about at the park with the gang, we also took the short walk to the bike park, that place is unreal, drops and jumps all mixed into tracks with huge wall rides and quarters, pretty much anything you could want; maybe well have mountainboard parks like that in the future.

We were all up early for a ride as everyone was leaving the next day, the wind had drooped and the ground was dry so I had a sweet session and some manly stacks on the new Winterberg gap, one of the biggest jumps I’ve ever hit, the landings a bit to mellow but Florien’s on the case so if your some sort of fiend for the big air and you like a good German shindig, get yourself out there next season.

Everyone but me and Tuai left, that weekend was the German open ahhhhh yeah, I don’t want to offend anyone as I know all the organisers probably put a lot of effort into it but to me it looked some silly power trip to try and boycott Winterberg.

Willing where the event was held sucked hard and I mean really sucked, there was a part of the track where you had to power slide to a stop, hop round a corner and the tick tack to get going again.

Me and the fit one were not down with it so we spent the day doing commentary to ourselves and cheering on the Winterberg locals, after all the excitement we headed home, feeling thoroughly crap about our little sport and in need of a good night out and that’s exactly what we got, there was some sort of fair going on in town so we met up with Amin (now the German open champ) and all the local bikers for some festivities, I lost Tuai pretty soon after our rocky cocktails by the big wheel and didn’t see him again until the morning, he was lying on the middle of the slope basking in the glorious sunshine, and I felt like id drunk too muck German beer, this part of the story would have been way different if the fit one had written it but he’s way too lazy so you’ll have to make do.

This is dragging on a bit so here is the end, I got stung on the hand by a wasp whilst Tuai was swimming in the snow cannons water reserve and I was trying to sleep off my hangover. My hand turned into some sort of heffer thing and took about three days to go down. We drove home that night, I slept like a baby and I’m sure Tuai did to. Another trip ill never forget, and I haven’t even toughed the surface of what went down in those two weeks, but I fear I’d either really boor you if I haven’t done that already or highly offend you.

I almost forgot to mention Falco and the rest of the blue buss crew. Good times.
