First time I met Kodey was way back, he came over to our humble little island with all the hardcore badass Americans who used to scare the shit out of me, he had a cast on his wrist at this point but still rode harder than the rest. He ended up staying at mine for a while which was class an we spent many a day catching wildlife and free riding in the woods, good times!

I was lucky enough to spend a bit of time with good old beef chunk out in sunny south brazil a few months back, he’s one of the soundest chaps out there an can sure balance on one of the trolley boards even with one foot out, way out! anyway, here’s a few words with the main man himself all the way from the US of A

Favorite mountainboarder to ride with?

Leon, Jereme, and Akoni. We all push each other to ride hard and try new things. I’m actually heading out to ride with AK right after I finish this interview

Favorite skater?

Paul Rodriguez. We built a skatepark for him out here in California and he’s super cool. I witnessed the most pure skateboarding I’ve ever seen that day, just 5 guys sticking the craziest stuff like it was nothing

I seen a photo of you chilling with Travis does that mean you’re getting on some nitro circus action?

Leon, AK, and myself did film with them. It was a great time but I don’t believe any of our footage was used. Actually, they used one shot of Special Greg smashing a camera man while riding a mountainboard

Any big plans to take over the world?

Nope, I just like to do my own thing.

Ha ha…as Knepper would say “Eat your wheaties, do good in school, and listen to your parents. Then one day you’ll be as cool as we are!”

How did Houdini die?

Well he was running around bonking everything…trees, pole, trucks, even other Houdinis. Then one day an englishman came along, saw what he was doing, and killed him. The moral is…dont hate the bonk!

What makes Mountainboarding special for you?

The people that do it. We still are a giant family and I love that aspect. If you just have fun with the sport you’ll go places. Ride to have fun and push yourself. If you try and get sponsors and make money you’ll get burnt out.

Do you rollerblade?

Hells Yes!!! There’s no feeling like strapping on those roller boots and jumping down some stairs. Ha ha, no I wouldn’t ever touch those

Chicken boots?

A saying from Moab Utah in 2002. Back in the good ole days with some good ole people. Delirious with some friends after driving 14 hours to get there, we saw a picture with a chicken wearing huge boots and thought we’d start “a word” ha ha…it was stupid but somehow I got stuck with the nickname

Hmmmmmm, I have a backside rodeo, a backside rodeo 7, and a couple other dork moves I’ve been working on. There’s a time and place for everything and I just haven’t had a reason to throw them yet

A 360 stalefish…that was the first trick I ever wanted to learn

Tell us about the time with the slowworms in sunny Cornwall?

Ha ha…that story is boring compared to all the other ones. Like when you ran over that pram and we were told to stop riding. Or when those girls thought you were cute and their way of getting your attention was hitting you in the back with nettles. We’ve had some good times I just cant believe it was that long ago…

Any plans to come back over?

I hope so. I miss it over there alot. You guys are so much fun to ride with and I definitely miss hanging out. I can guarantee I’ll be there at least 1 more time before I stop riding.

O yeah would you be up for designing us a t-shirt?

All those days trying to design a downbeat skate logo and you still think I can draw! I’m hopeless my friend…
